• —(1)  This Order may be cited as the Curriculum (Programme of Study and Attainment Targets in English at Key Stages 3 and 4) Order (Northern Ireland) 1996.
• —(1)  Subject to paragraph (2), the Curriculum (Programmes of Study and Attainment Targets in English) Order (Northern Ireland) 1990 2 , in so far as it relates to the third and fourth key stages, is hereby revoked.
•     (2)  The Curriculum (Programmes of Study and Attainment Targets in English) Order (Northern Ireland) 1990 shall continue to have effect until 1st August 1997 in respect of pupils in the second year of the fourth key stage as if this Order had not been made.
