- __Subject__: Re: Alternatives to bilinear interpolation .
- What do you mean exactly by "fix"? Are you saying my algorithm needs fixing only because it is bilinear? I'm using bicubic interpolation now (and found a way to reduce the complexity, such that the debug version's time has come down from 11 seconds to 3, and 1 in release) Is that fixed? So should I now upscale to do everything, including the down-size? .

- Are Bilinear Quadrilaterals Better Than Linear Triangles?.
- Are Bilinear Quadrilaterals Better Than Linear Triangles?: SIAM Journal on Scientific Computing Vol. ... 1This paper compares the theoretical effectiveness of bilinear approximation over quadrilaterals with linear approximation over triangles. Anisotropic mesh transformation is used to generate asymptotically optimally efficient meshes for piecewise linear interpolation over triangles and bilinear interpolation over quadrilaterals. For approximating a convex function, although bilinear quadrilaterals are more efficient, linear triangles are more accurate and may be preferred in finite element computations; whereas for saddle-shaped functions, quadrilaterals may offer a higher-order approximation on a well-designed mesh. ...

- The satisfiability problem of conjunctive or disjunctive normal form has been describes as bilinear programming in the autohors' previous paper. ... We show that the optimizing problem of 0-1 integer programming which is typical NP-hard problem is defined as bilinear programming with continuous parameter, and classify this problem into the different class from the satisfibability problem, the feasibility problem of 0-1 integer programming and so on. Also, the following graph problems are described in the present paper as bilinear programming with discrete parameter; finding the maximum clique, obtaining the minimum cover of vertices, and determining the chromatic number. ...

- Bilinear operator.
- In mathematics, given three vector spaces V, W and X over the same base field F, a bilinear operator is a function B: VxW -> X such that for any w in W, v |-> B(v, w) is a linear operator from V to X, and for any v in V, w |-> B(v, w) is a linear operator from W to X. In other words, if we hold fixed the first entry to the bilinear operator, while letting the second entry vary, the result is a linear operator, and similarly if we hold fixed the second entry. ...
